Latest news (update 14-01-2022)

• International:
• The Fibre Optics based monitoring systems aimed at detecting and quantifying leakages and seepages below GeoMembrane delivered by geophyConsult in India late in 2021 (on a 80 m high dam) is now fully operational. It has been successfully used for 2 campaigns, before and after reservoir refilling.
• With EDF, geophyConsult is about to install a Fibre Optics based monitoring systems for a dam in progress in Patagonia.
• geophyConsult successfuly carried out, late in 2021 and early in 2022, several erosion tests on soils coming from the Netherlands.

 

• France:
• geophyConsult successfuly delivered, in autumn 2021, a Fibre Optics based monitoring system aimed at detecting early signs of sinkholes below railways to the South of Orléans (see page 8 of Revue Travaux, n°969).
• geophyConsult successfuly delivered, in December 2021, its contribution to the Monitoring report of sections 2 and 4 of Canal Seine Nord Europe.

 

• Communication : geophConsult will hold a booth and contribute to the technical tour (during which an operational Fibre Optics based monitoring system will be presented, among others) at the next ICOLD annual meeting, to be held at Marseille 27/05-04/06 2022.

 

• Latest technical developements : geophConsult is finishing its software suite dedicated to the operation of its Fibre Optics based monitoring systems dedicated to the treatment of passive thermal measurements (according to the « Gradient Method »), active thermal measurements (according to the « Heat Pulse Method ») and of strain measurements. It includes automatic or semi-automatic modules to: assess that the system is operational and delivers meaningfull data,
• analyse the data,
• represent the main results either in 2D (potentially with maps in background),or in 3D,
• interpret the data in terms of simple recomended actions, that can be directly executed by an owner.
• The suite can be:
• deployed on stand-alone systems (like the Windows® computers that control the monitoring systems on site),
• accessed via a secure and user-friendly internet interface, deployed on the cloud of geophyConsult.

• Relocation : 10 years after it entered the Montpellier Sup'Agro engineering school incubator — without which the company would probably nether have launched its laboratory —, the lab recently moved to Jacou, a few kilometers North of Montpellier. geophyConsult is very grateful to Montpellier Sup'Agro for its support ! The technicial team took the opportunity of this move to fully renew geophyConsult erosion tests benches.

 

• New employees : geophyConsult recruited a new monitoring engineer and a new technician in Autumn 2021. Both are already fully operational.
